I have an iiyama ProLight wide-screen monitor, with a resolution of
1680x1050.

However the closest I can get to this resolution in display settings
in Windows XP (SP2) is 1600x900, 1600x1200 or 1920 x 1080.

I have reinstalled my Nvidia Geforce drivers, and installed iiyama
drivers to no avail. Any ideas how I can fix this problem? Thanks.

Solved -edited registry to add custom resolution.

The limiting factor is your video card, not XP or the monitor. The video
card does not support that resolution, whatever card it is you are using.
(You didn't list it.)

Dave I just solved the problem by patching XP, as I explained briefly
above, and you still think you know how to fix my machine better than
I do. Curious.
