My Son has a SIS 730 Board running AMD 1800+ and lately the monitor will suddenly shut down. Now it is happeningsometimes even at after boot up. It started as not being playing games with the text jagged and red tint screen, then the computer hanging and the monitor shutting down. We have changed monitors, AGP cards, memory, and recently a new 80 gig hard drive. It is now is happening consistantly! Is it a Temerature problem or mother board
Help!!!
Thanks for any advise. John

Hello

Possible check your power supply or mayb even try another
monitor to see if the same thing happens

Hi Alvin

Yes we did tried a different Power supply - from 350 watt to 400. also changed to different monitor. No change --- now I think this started after upgraded processor from 1.1 gig Duron to XP1800+-- using Volcano6+ heat sink -- maybe it is not strong to keep it cool

The video card first was Nvidia GF2-400mx when the red tint showwed up in the games --Warcraft3 and Battlefield1942 and unable to get sceen in StarWars KOR. They were playing before the change of processor, and also a little of time after
Thanks for replying

Well I changed HSF but didn't fix anything. Sometimes it shuts down right after boot and sometimes after running 30 minutes! My son is going crazy! As I said we have changed Power supply, AGP card, Memory, monitor, and HSF. Now this started after installing AthlonXP 1800+,
but not right away. the MB is SIS 730 by PC Chips -- I know, not a top line product, but it is supposed to handle XPs. I worked fine running a 1.1gig Duron. Has anybody got any ideas?!!!
