I had just recently gotten a brand new computer built from
nothing with all the latest hardware. It was working fine
for a few days until yesterday when it tried to load the
desktop the monitor just shuts itself off and hasnt worked
properly yet. I tried another monitor and ended up with
the same results. Is this Windows related or is it the
video card iteself? and is there a way to fix it?

Does this computer have two video cards? (For example, an onboard card and
a separate one)

If so, try connecting the monitor to the other card. Windows may be
detecting them both and switching the display over to the other card. If
that's the case you can go into display properties and choose which one to
make the primary, secondary etc. (the idea is that you can stretch your
desktop across two monitors if you have two cards.)

Well my first assumptions were correct, it wasnt the
windows at all. there was only one video card but somehow
it died on me and simply replaced it with a new one.
