Monitor shuts down during startup

My new Dell Dimension E520 froze up yesterday (purchased in December). It's
running Windows XP Pro Media Edition with 2GB of RAM on dual 1862 Mhz Intel
CPUs and an NVIDEA GeForce 7300 LE video card. I had run it all day
yesterday without issue. My daughter came home and switched to her profile,
but the screen froze. I attempted to log her off and the monitor went black,
though remained powered up and showing an orange led on the on/off button. I
tried to reboot and it loaded correctly until just after the Windows logo,
then the monitor went black again even though the hard drive kept churning.
Several attempted reboots yielded the same result. I've been through Dell
support where they instructed me to restore from a previous date, reload the
drivers, chkdsk /r, defrag, etc...none of which worked. I can now only start
my computer in various versions of Safe Mode. Note that when I have it
opened in Safe Mode, all graphics appear to be working normally, I just can't
seem to get it to boot with the correct drivers and I'm desperate... Is
there any hope short of reinstalling my enire O/S?

Thanks for any help you can give,
Di

The change to warm weather may have effected the card to MoBo slot contact. I
would pull your GForce card, and re-seat it.
If no help, I would try another video cable.

OMG - it works! I live in the CO mtns and we haven't had much of a warming
trend here yet, but I resat the video card and some of the other cables and
it booted right up. Thank you so much for your help!
