Monitor resets every hour or so--why?

Approximately every hour (sometimes three-times an hour, sometimes not
for a couple of hours), my monitor resets itself. I can be typing
information, the monitor goes blank, and makes sounds like I'm turning
it off and on again, and then comes right back on. I can keep typing
when this occurrs, and everything comes out right--so I know it's not
the computer itself--but just the monitor. Anyone every have a
problem like that? Anyone have a solution?
 
Try it with another PC, if it still happens then the monitor is faulty, get it repaired or replace it.

Have you checked/substituted the power cord ? Could also be a dry
solder or other heat-related problem inside the monitor. How old is it
?
