Monitor queries.

I have a similar problem to another recent post here.
I am a newb, thrown together a couple of systems
from parts from an auction.

The first monitor 17" philips 109B lightframe
works fine but when I increase the resolution
all the icons disappear off the side of the screen.

advice please?

The second monitor, a behemoth 21" sun microsystems
has an odd looking plug, that has 3 female pins,
amongst the other male pins
(a really horrible scan here...
http://cjoint.com/data/krl2tqC4oo.htm

There is another female plug on the side of
the cord where it enters the monitor.
Do I just purchase an appropriate cord?

How does one read the model?
I can see no model on the sun monitor.

from the other post, I assume i have to
download appropriate drivers?

Thanks very much
Rod.

Thanks DL,
I'll try that tonight, I just thought the amount that
disappeared was too much
(All the start up icons etc...a good 2 inches)
Cheers

That is a standard Sun video connector as found on their Unix boxes.
Conversion leads are available.

Thank you very much, MI5 and a bit,
I'll ring around for a price,
otherwise it's headed for a give-away or the dumpster.

With your 17" perhaps you need to adjust the settings 'on the monitor'

Yep, a lot of prodding buttons that squeezed and stretched
solved it.
Thanks DL.
