After a reinstallation of Windows 2000. i noticed that my
monitor wasent going into standby after specifyed time.
When into display settings and clicked on advanced and
wennt to teh monitors setting i seen that it was listed as
a default monitor and the properties button is greyed out?
went into device manager and a monitor is not listed.
Tryed add new hardware and found that their isent even a
monitor listing in their for any type of monitor??
Everything was working fine before i reinstalled ??

You need to get an INF file for the monitor, it's on the CD that came
with the monitor. If you dont have that CD, go visit the manufacturers
web site and get it.

I have the inf file for the monitor. Its a little hard to
change when the properties button is greyed out. for
monitor properties and their isent a monitor listed in teh
divice manager any other sugestions?

ok no one has any other suggestions on how to fix this.. I
would realy like to get it fixed as my power saving
options for teh monitor will not work untill i do .. all
buttons to do with monotor are greyed out so i cannot
enable teh powersaving features.. any ideas

Only other reason I could guess is that the adapter driver is incorrect
and is not reporting the monitor as Plug and play. Try updating graphics
driver and see if system then finds and recognizes the monitor.
