monitor properities button not clickable

I wan't to install the drivers for a new viewsonic
monitor, but the sytem won't recognize it as plug and play
and I can't click the monitors properties button to
install new drivers because the button is gray and
inactive, what can I try next?

If the drivers are on a CD or diskette, read the instructions that are on it.
If you downloaded the driver, read the Installation help on the website.
