Does anyone know of a "No Install" tool which can tell me what processes are
running on my computer and tell me/link to inofrmation about what they are
doing?

Been working on this one myself:

See this reply to my earlier post in a similar vein:

How about the OSA (MS Office indexing service) prcess in the autorun
section (check msconfig.exe for autostart entries)? It kicks in, when
the machine apparently is not used, and causes a lot of hard disk
movements.

I can't say for sure, but I believe the Filemon of Sysinternals.com can
do this.

This is a small, no install exe file that lists all the processes in
real time ( i.e. as they access the hard drive ).
I believe it can be configured to list all processes running, but
idle, too.
Worth a look, as it's only a small download.
