monitor probs

hi just found this site while browsing an it looks brill, and was wondering if any one got advice on flat screen monitor probs.. basically am running win xp on home pc an have been given a flat screen monitor it powers up no problem goes from standby(orange)2 green when booting up pc,but when it should be showing the desktop programs it jus stays a white screen?? my old monitor works ok so dont think pc is at fault. would really be grateful for any advice on wether monitor is repairible or ready for the bin.. thank you.....
 
Sounds like its dead.

hi. its less than 1 year. tried again to get monitor 2 load desktop after few attempts of switching off /on it came on,only prob wen u switch off an try 2 load again same probs as b4. thanks 4 replyn so quick...
 
Its a long shot but check the conections and try a different monitor cable.
