REcently my mate moved his house and now his PC Monitor is not working.
Simply the power is working but nothing on screen when the PC is switched
on. So I thought it was his monitor, so I plugged my monitor in and still
nothing on screen. So whats the problem, any ideas? Thanks

If it shows nothing on your monitor either, the fault is probably
with the computer and not the monitor. You can test the monitor
by connecting it to your computer. Maybe something inside the
computer was jarred loose while moving.

Please supply some more info to go on with -
Does the computer beep after powering on ? Does the hard disk
light flicker normally as when loading the OS ? Do the fans turn ?
Does the monitor power indicator light stay green or turn amber
after some time ?

The problem is with the computer if neither monitor worked. If he has a
video card installed, instead of on board video, check to see that it is
seated properly it may have come loose during the move. If he has on
board video then he probably has damaged the motherboard during the
move. If this is the case you could try installing a video card and see
what happens.

Reseat the video card. Try again.

Sounds like a video card. Try replacing it if reseating
the card, as other have suggested does't help.

At the moment til I go up there next, I will look out for the following
which you asked for. I do know that the power indicator light turns amber.
