Monitor out of focus

Print appears out of focus,not in a big way but enough to
hurt the eyes. Have degaussed the screen. Anyt pointers
would be good thanks. El gordo
 
does your monitor have an auto-adjust option, if so give it a bash,or try adjusting clock or clock phase in your monitor adjustment menu. if u dont have a monitor adjustment then i got no idea

Is it only the letters? If so you may have 'clear type' enabled. To disable:
1.. Open Display in Control Panel.
2.. On the Appearance tab, click Effects.
3.. In the Effects dialog box, select the Use the following method to
smooth edges of screen fonts check box.
4.. Click Standard in this list..
 
i noticed this today my screen noticably text appears blurrey and it hurts the old eyes now - i thing it is the whole display
it corrects you a short while if i turn it off and back on
my monitor is around 6-7 years old 17 " juggernaut of a box
im guessing i need to buy a new monitor
 
Thanks tried your soln but no go. Monitor is only 16
months old so maybe the warranty is still good.
