Monitor "No Signal"

When I turn on the monitor, it shows "So Signal", what're the
possibilities?

When troubleshooting, make only one change at a time and test after each
change.

1. Shut down the computer. Check the cable going from the monitor to the
computer. Make sure there are no bent pins and that it is snugly
attached. Test. If no luck -

2. Attach the computer to a different monitor. Does that monitor work
with your computer? If yes, then you know there is something wrong with
your original monitor. If no, then you know there is something wrong
with your video card in the computer.

3. If your troubleshooting points to the computer, swap out the video
card for a known-working one. Since you cannot see anything, you won't
be able to uninstall the old one from Windows first (which is
preferable) but you have to work with what you've got. If all is well
with the test video card, replace your original card.

Testing hardware failures often involves swapping out suspected parts
with known-good parts. If you can't do the testing yourself and/or are
uncomfortable opening your computer, take the machine to a professional
computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigStoreUSA).
