Have a new sys with a viewsonic 17 lcd monitor. It works
fine but I continually get the following message box
"Resolution Notice:
To get the best quality
set your resolution to
1280 x 1024"
Then there are number boxes as tho a selection
#1 is for clear message
and #2 is for disable message
The only way I can get rid of the message is to set my
resolution to the one indicated. I do not want it that
high. I cannot find any setting where I can shut down
this message and I'm not sure where it's coming from
anyway.

Viewsonic provides a neat cdrom that comes with the
monitor. It contains the instruction manual as a file
in *.pdf format. Read it on how to disable the message
the monitor kicks out because the display adapter is
not set at the native resolution for the monitor. If
there is no cdrom, then visit the Viewsonic website,
do a little searching and download the same.
