Monitor limited to 16 colors and 800 X 600 resolution

After I installed Windows 2000 Professional, the display
on my Samsung Syncmaster 900SL monitor is limited to 16
colors and resolution of 800 X 600 or less. Is there a
video adapter or other solution to get my monitor working
correctly again? I have all the newest updates to Windows
2000 Professional and I've submitted an inquiry to Samsung
but they haven't responded. Any suggestions will be
appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks everybody! My display is now working better than
ever! Access to resolutions up to 1600 X 1200 now (I
tried it I'm amazed -- to think I was cursing
Microsoft, Compaq and Samsung....

I have the exact problem on a different model computer.
