I have a Sony monitor, using Win XP Home. Device
Manager/Properties identifies it as a default monitor.
How do I get XP to id it for what it is? I've tried all
I can think of. I had it id'd properly in Win 98, but
now I can't. Thanks in advance.

Right click the empty area of the desktop, click Properties, Settings,
Advanced, Monitor Tab, Advanced, Driver Tab.
Update Driver. Have your disk ready to point the driver installer to the
Sony drivers on your Sony disk.

Monitor is a few years old, no driver/software disks came
with it. I'll try the Sony website. Maybe I'm out of
luck.........................

Monitor 'drivers' tell the system what range of settings the monitor can
handle. If the monitor is performing well, at a reasonable refresh rate
of 75-85 Hz., then there may be no need to identify it further.
