After installing a new machine(Ati 9600Pro-AMD2600-A7N8X-Deluxe) with my old
monitor (Philips 107E) . I arranged the monitor to keep on 85 Hz.

But after all restarts the monitor keeps going back to 60 Hz. This makes my
eyes very tired and gives some headache time to time.

Is there a way to fix that Hz rate ?

--Thanks in advance.

This is more of an operating system/video driver/video card issue than
a monitor issue. For an answer, you'll have to provide details of
these settings including what operating system you're running.

I checked the specs of the Philips 107E. At the resolution of 1280x1024, it
only supports 64 kHz horizontal frequency and 60 Hz vertical.
At the 1024x768 resolution however, both vertical frequencies of 60 and 70
Hz are supported for horizontal frequencies of resp. 48.4 kHz and 56.5 kHz.
So in the first case, you will have to stay at 60 Hz. For the second case,
you should check the settings of your video card.
Anyways, your setting of 85 Hz is not supported by the monitor, and it's
logic that it is switched back automatically to the lowest frequency.
