monitor "fuzzy"

During attempts to solve previous problems - bad screen because of wrong version of motherboard installed - I found some sort of "program" that offered me to enhance the quality of my screen. I chose between different images much like when you're at the optician and arrived at an image that was clear. Now, my choices don't apply having the correct motherboard installed

I don't recall what kind of program or service that I used
Could it be some function of XP
Or... what? Any ideas?
 
You were probably using the software that came with your video card.
