i have a sony vaio laptop using windows xp, i have read somewhere on
these newsgroups that using a screensaver is not recommended for LCDs,
and that it's better to turn the screensaver to None and activate the
automatic switching off of the monitor, which is fine with me as i
like to leave the computer on during the night or day and prefer to
not switch it off... now the problem is that when i did that, the
monitor would switch off indeed after set idle time, but then when i
press the keyboard it fails to switch back on, i know the machine is
still on, 'cos this would happen even if i'd set the idle period to 1
or 2 minutes just to test it, and yet the monitor would remain off...
what is wrong and what can i do...
