The problem that I am having occurs after the computer has put the monitor
into the Energy Saver Sate. Basically if I set my computer to turn off the
monitor it will after the set amount of time has passed. When I come back
to the computer to try to get on it again, it will not bring the display
back up. I then have to hold the power button to force the system to shut
down and reboot again to get the display back. I don't like doing this as
things could get destroyed on the hard drive and if I was working on
anything before leaving the computer, all that would be lost as well. Any
ideas as to what could be causing this and what I can do to fix it?

Thanks

if you post back and give some specifics, like computer, monitor, and video card types, maybe someone might be able to help.

they certainly cannot without some information.
