Anon,
Checking your graphic card's settings would be much more productive than a
reinstall, and far quicker.
Right click on a blank area of your desktop, then click 'properties' on the
drop down menu.
The actual interface panel will depend on the sense of humour of the card's
manufacturer, but look for 'settings' and probably 'advanced settings'. You
should find a sub panel with control for brightness, gamma, contrast colour
correction etc.
Also check your monitor refresh rate while you're there (possibly on the
'adapter' tab - it too may have defaulted to something less than 75Hz which
is the minimum for a flicker free clear image.
Click 'apply when you're done.
Hope this helps

I rencetly uninstalled Adobe photoshop and now my windows display and my
display in full screen mode are extremely dark and adjusting them through
the monitor settings doesn't seem to help that much.
