Monitor Adaptors

I need to go from nine pin to fifteen pin, and also from fifteen pin to
nine pin. Do these adaptors exist? And is there any technical problem
with using them?

I have an old computer and monitor, 9 pin ports. I'm getting a slightly
newer computer with a VGA port, and a switch box so I can use one monitor
with two computers. So I need to go from 9 to 15 and then 15 to 9 to get
the old computer connected through the switchbox. The new one can just
use a generic VGA cable.

If the older system just uses 9 pin for the video card, it is not a vga
compatible card. That was the connection for the older CGA/EGA monitors,
and probably won't work. Some of the first "multisync" monitors would do
both, and had adapters for VGA systems, but new monitors won't work with
CGA/EGA signals.

Problem solved on http://www.questsuperstore.com. They have adapters that
go both ways. Turns out (according to The Indispensible PC Hardware Book,
which I picked up from the library tonight) that 9 pin VGA connectors
appeared in the early transition from EGA to VGA, which caused problems
because it was easy to mistake for an EGA connector. But that's what both
my graphics card and monitor have. Sorry to bother everyone.
