Huh! ... your not looking at an old Com2 port are you?

Beter still, what MB is it? ;)

I think you right mucks.

Sounds like a game port on a motherboard not the VGA port.

Shammon you sure this motherboard had built in graphics?

It isnt on there, it just looks like a parrallel port like old printer one
That is a Com2 port, old style ... don't go plugging anything in there. No, hang on, I got my sockets & plugs the wrong way around ... however, You still need a graphics card. ;)

i have a graphics card, but i cant access bios to change to boot from AGP.

monitor is just blank when i try to connect to graphics card.

The motherboard is a old SOYO SY-5EMA+

You should still get a picture.

Does that card work in another machine?

Try another card in it ?

Have you tryed dropping the BIOS (disconnectiing battery or jumper) and then entering?

Sorry, but unless you can tell us what your using we can't tell you how to 'fix' it.

What is the graphics card? what is the CPU? what is the memory?

Does the system give you one beep when powered on? do you hear any beeps?

Do you have the manual to set the jumpers? http://www.soyo.com.tw/downloads/selectresults.php?col2=33

;)

I messed around with the jumpers, and took out the onboard battery.

It worked... i am now writing this to you on the built and working system, thanks for your help guys
