"WinFS is like PowerShell," Muglia said. It needs a longer beta because it
is a brand-new technology. "But we are looking at how we could incorporate
some of that technology in the next version of SQL Server," code-named
"Katmai," he said.

So, it needs more testing before it can be implemented into either Windows
client or server.

Hi ,All:
I have downloaded LongHorn Server Beta2 iso image.
Where to find Longhorn's newsgroup?
I have some questions needed to ask!
(Note : Not Windows Vista!)

Thank you

All the newsgroups are found here and the settings to add them for XP:
http://www.vistabase.co.uk/welcome.php?newsgroups

There aren't any designated newsgroups for "Longhorn" Server yet, however
check out the microsoft.public.windows.server.* newsgroups as their the
nearest thing to it :o)

I suspect you won't see dedicated Longhorn Server newsgroups for now, so any
issues specific server version can be discussed in the Vista ngs since the
code base syncronized right now:

Here is a list of available newsgroups for Windows Vista as of today:

a.. microsoft.public.windows.vista.general
b.. microsoft.public.windows.vista.administration_account_passwords
c.. microsoft.public.windows.vista.file_management
d.. microsoft.public.windows.vista.hardware_devices
e.. microsoft.public.windows.vista.installation_setup
f.. microsoft.public.windows.vista.mail
g.. microsoft.public.windows.vista.networking_sharing
h.. microsoft.public.windows.vista.performance_maintenance
i.. microsoft.public.windows.vista.print_fax_scan
j.. microsoft.public.windows.vista.security
k..microsoft.public.windows.vista.music_pictures_video

Head on over to the following page at Microsoft's website on how to
configure your
newsreader to read Microsoft's Public Newsgroups:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/newsgroupsetup.mspx

So if you issues, questions or want to comment and discuss concerning
Windows Vista BETA 2, you know where to go.

Monad's 1st delivery vehicle will be with Exchange 2007, and Monad/PowerShell will be available for download at the same time.

Current release timeframe is Q4/2006.

Cheers
