Hello,

does anyone know the maximum supported HD capacity
of that external 2,5" USB- and Firewire-enclosure (OS WIN XP)?

Thanks

If you don't get an answer, take the unit apart, examine
the chips used inside the enclosure, and search for
information on the chips. You might get an answer that
way.

Good luck getting an answer from DVICO. I get the impression
they've moved on from doing storage products.

Also, IIRC, IDE/PATA disks weren't made bigger than 100GB or 120GB, as SATA
you can now get 160GB..

Hello Paul and Thomas,

I'm using a brand new PATA Samsung HM160JC (160 GB), and have
as expected problems. I assume there is a limit at >80 GB
or >120 GB. Parts of the HD are overwritten.

Meanwhile VALUEPLUS has bought the license for the Momobay CX-2
from DViCO, at least the enclosures were manufactured until
last year. So I still hope a Firmware update may help, the
Momobay CX-2 are very reliable parts and have been really
expensive some years ago.

Thanks for your support
Udo
