Save it to your hard drive and then use Insert > Movies and sounds > Movie
from file in PowerPoint.

Hi and Thanks

I deleted all my test videos this morning from my hard drive and made a new one so I would be able to identify it readily. (I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed) I then created a new presentation, with one slide, and formatted it to have a text box and a clip art box. I clicked on insert Movies and Sounds. On the pull down menu I selected Movie from File. A dialogue presents itself headed "Insert Movie". The next line down says: Look In and has the date of my test video from this morning. Below in the File name box, when I type in the name of my video, the Ok box highlights. When I click on the OK, it must not be OK, because nothing happens. I hope what I described makes sense
Thanks

My camera is a Kodak 4530...

I use Kodak Easy Share Software to transfer from video to computer ....

I right clicked on the file and then clicked on properities. Listed next to format was: the letters mov, a space and then a video camera icon ....

Thanks

Rich,

A mov file is a quicktime file. Powerpoint's not keen on quicktime files (newer than version 2 of the quicktime player).

However..... try renaming the file from

whateverNameItIs.mov to Movie1.mpg

Then
Insert > movie > from file in powerpoint

Report back here with results
