I have been helping my uncle setup his laptop. He has macular degeneration
and requires very large fonts to be able to read them. The problem is that
the text under icons on the desktop wrap in the middle of words. Can the
registry be modified to allow longer words?

Thanks,
Dale

Display properties> Appearance> Advanced: The item Icon allows you to
adjust the font size for icons. It sounds like you already have that
adjusted though. So take a look at Icon Horizontal Spacing. Increasing this
should allow more width for text. Unfortunately this will change the size
of the icons and appearance may suffer from horizontal stretching.

Without changing anything, you could use comments in the desktop item's
properties. Whatever you type here will appear in a tooltip when he hovers
the mouse over the icon. If not seeing those tooltips pop up, there is a
tooltip setting in Folder Options> View that needs to be checked: "Show pop
up description for folder and desktop items."
