I have just installed windows 2000 pro... and unlike
windows 98SE you cannot acces the start-up file by typing
MSCONFIG after going to START then RUN... so what I need
help with is, I have a very annoying program that starts
with windows but I don't want to unistall it because it is
a very usefull program, I just don't want it starting with
windows...and I would like to know is what I need to do to
acces the windows start-up folder, and how to modify
it...I would really appreciate any advice given no matter
how small or how big.. Thanx-A-Bunch...

Hello Alex,

There are a number of places that 3rd party products can startup from. The
easiest way to get at them would be to do the following...

1. Find a system with Windows XP
2. Copy the file MSCONFIG.EXE to the Windows 2000 system (doesn't matter
what directory you put it in)
3. Run MSCONFIG.EXE and look at the Startup tab
4. Find the entry for the program that you want to disable
