When I setup my new pc I typed in my name for the primary account name. My name appears in the path of every file and I want to remove it. I changed my user account name but that doesn't affect the file paths. How can I get my name out of the file paths?

What do want to see instead?

Create a new user account with a name that you prefer.

Then copy everything from the original user account to this new user account.

After you are absolutely certain that this new user account is 100% OK, delete the original user account.

XP is a multi-user oriented operating system. Whatever user profile you are
logged in with will have that profiles name in the path. If you simply want
to change the name, you will need to create another user profile and then
copy the files and settings from the original profile to this new account.
You may need to take ownership of the files in the original account before
copying them.

I really appreciate the help, Ronnie. I created another account but didn't know how to copy files and settings into it. Thanks again and Merry Christmas.
