Modifying/Customizing Drive Icons!

can someone direct me on modifying and/or customizing WinXP drive icons located in My Computer, thx.

Keep in mind that...

[[You can use this registry setting only on removable media drives. If you
attempt to change the label for a fixed drive (e.g., the C drive), the new
setting won't have any effect because the physical drive has a volume label
in the registry that overrides the disk label setting.]]

that was the whole idea, on a fixed drive, as i read it was possible, thx
once again for your input thou.

I have changed the label that appears in Explorer to 'Local Hard Drive
(C:)'.

I think the default was something slightly different like 'Hard Disk Drive'.
It was a while ago so I can't remember what it was before. Anyway, I thought
my wording was a bit clearer.

This setting has remained. That is, it did have an effect.
