I've got a couple of questions regarding the creation of custom forms.
I've searched the forum for a while and have not been able to find a
answer, so I apologize in advance if these have been addresse
elsewhere. Please point me in the direction of the solution if this i
the case.
We are an environmental consulting company and are just beginning t
realize the potential of Outlook to help us track all of our projects.
We are currently designing a custom "contact" form which we will us
for entering project information, the most important of which will b
various deadlines for each of the projects. The idea here being tha
anybody can then sort the projects by the "Next Due Date" field t
instantly know which projects have important dates approaching. M
questions:
1) We are designing this form according to the way we want it to loo
now, but if we wanted to add a field or remove a field (or make an
other changes) some time down the road (after the data has bee
populated), will this in any way affect the existing data? Under an
circumstances would making any change to the design of the form requir
the re-entry of all (or any) of our project information?
2) Ideally, we would like to also have a separate calendar devoted t
each project. This calendar would also track project deadlines (coul
it be synchronized with the form data?), but would also be used to kee
track of other project-related events (events that wouldn't necessaril
be a part of the form that we're creating). Is this feasible?
We are currently using Outlook 2000, but would entertain the idea o
upgrading if doing so would help us accomplish our project trackin
goals.
