Modifying a Powerpoint presentation from another computer

I'll try to make this short.
We are setting up a computer in our Lobby to show an informational
powerpoint. It will be on our company network.
We want to find a way to update/change the Powerpoint from a different
computer on the network, so we can change the powerpoint file, load it
remotely onto the display computer, and run the new file, all of them
from a separate computer.
This is probably simple, but, we're pretty technically challenged at
our small company, so any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Larry Hall

As long as the computer you want to make the changes on has rights and
access to the PowerPoint presentation go ahead and make your changes

Larry,

PC "A" plays the presentation
PC "B" does the updating

Not as easy as you might think. The problem your going to run into is that
computer "B" can not shut down the presentation on computer "A". If you
can't shut it down, the file on computer "A" is in use and you can't replace
it or copy over it.

The simplest (and its not simple) answer is to create an exe that starts and
runs the presentation on computer "A" and then "listens" for a command
across the network to shut down the presentation, copy the file over, and
restart the new presentation.

If you have network access to the remote PC, then you could set up the
remote PC to 'call up' other presentations using a 'master / linking'
method.

The advantage of this over one single presentation.... is if a presentation
is 'currently in use' you will not be able to update it....if you use the
'linking' method, then powerpoint will simply skip the 'file in use' and
continue...until it's available again.
