Modify Case LED's pin-out

I have a Desktop case which the Power ON LED cable has connections for 3
pins, with this configuration XOX (X=pin O=empty), but i need XXO for my
motherboard, i tried to pull 1 pin out and put it in another (the empty
space) , but seems too firm, i'm afraid i could damage it, could someone tell
me how to do it? please!!, i'd appreciate it a lot.

They use a special tool to release the connector inside the
plastic body. You can use a magnifying glass [eye loop] to
see that there is a locking tab inside the plastic housing.
A thin probe can be used to depress or retract the lock.

You will need to pry in the little barb that holds it in the socket,
sometimes you can push the wire in and then bend in the barb so it won't
catch. Or you could try shorting the center pin to it.

Yes, try computer and tool supply stores, also telco
supplies. Checkout www.cyberguys.com and Google for "pin
extractors header pins" without the " ".

I had one like this and I just cut the plastic casing with a razor on the empty location and
basically made it a 2 single wire setup.
 
Sounds very good :), i didn't think about that, it doesn't affect at all,
right?

I've used a small stick pin many times and have never had a problem
 
Nope works just fine,2 wires going to a light that it turned on and off by the connection at the
board.

It's a light, you can safely leave it disconnected.
