Hoping someone can help me.
Using WinXP pro.
My modem worked for awhile then I moved it to install a
sound card. I now cant get the modem to work now. I did
replaced it in original slot.
I tried the trouble shotter with no change.
I get errowslike 633, 692.
Any suggestions.
Please !!
thanks

Some Mobo's (Mother Boards) will only let you use cartain
slots for certain devices. I think it is simply a matter
of uninstalling the drivers, restart the machine, then
first try "install new hardware" with the modem plugged
into the original slot. Make sure disk is in. If no disk,
download drivers from the internet. However if drivers
are not signed by Microsoft, you may need to get a new
modem. The good news is a new Modem is about $20. I
suggest DSL or cable. If you have not tried them, it is a
whole new world... Good luck,
Sean
