i am wondering if it is possible to do remote desktop not
over the internet but by dialing into one xp pro machine.
internet is not really an option as its dial up and the
office people want to connect from home when no one is in
the office. in the office all there is is 2 xp pro
machines networked. home machine is xp pro also. all
have modems. is this possible or do i have to look into
some remote control software like pcanywhere or pc-duo
which has dial-up capabilities?? i've been trying to find
stuff on ras for XP but not having much luck finding
exactly what i am asking. thanx.

I do that occasionally, ie. dial into one of my home XP Pro boxes and access it or other XP Pro
boxes on my LAN using Remote Desktop and my PocketPC Terminal Services Client. You can see how I
setup my XP RAS sever on this page. Ignore the part about the PocketPC in your case.
