Made the mistake or reinstalling xp pro.
Xp pro can not handle my dial up modem. It evidently cant find the hardware
card.
The card says 'model fb pctel amr v1.2' & cyber solutions corp.
I have found several drivers for different chip sets. However how to install
is a mytery to me. TIA

Remove the modem in Device Manager. Have the modem software cd handy and
reboot the machine. Windows will start the Found New Hardware Wizard and
start the installation procedure. You may need the modem software cd at
some point in this process. If you don't have a cd for the modem, start the
Add New Hardware Wizard and elect to choose a driver yourself. With luck,
the modem will be shown in the list of modems Windows has drivers for.

Did a search with google for cyber solutions corp. Found
www.cybersolutionscorp.com but was unable to find drivers/modems from that
site :-(. Anyone got an entrance to that site? TIA

Its a win modem. No modem drivers will load until you load the drivers for
the comm device then it will recognize it as a modem. I never did get my
pctel to work with xp. It was only a $12 modem and used it for a while under
98 so no regrets when it went out with trash. If you replace it stay away
from the $25 usr win-modems.
