At random... when I disconnect from the internet the blue
screen of death will pop up and my system will
automatically reboot before I can even read the message.
I'm sure it has to do with the modem driver, but I
thought I'd give this a shot first.

"SoftK56 Data Fax CARP" is the modem and the Manufacturer
is CXT. Any help is appreciated. :)

Hello

One option that you can try is to make sure that you have the
current modem driver installed and just repalce your modem
with either a USR or one that has a Lucent Chipset

Hi, J.

To give yourself time to read the BSOD, change WinXP's default setting for
what to do on System failure.

Go to System Properties | Advanced | Startup and Recovery Settings and
remove the check from the box that says to Automatically restart.

Next time, you'll still have to restart - by pressing the Reset button - but
you'll have all the time you need to read the screen first. If you can't
figure out the message yourself, post it here - verbatim, at least for the
Stop number and hex codes - and somebody should be able to point you in the
right direction.
