Not me

I am trying to get a modem (for dial-up) working on an Emachine which was
always used by someone else with high speed cable. I've installed another
modem which I know works, and there is no way either one will connect via
dial-up. Diagnostics tells me the modem is working fine, but neither
connects. I've been through all the troubleshooting. Is there something
they switch off to the modem when they connect Rogers cable high speed?
(The ethernet works fine though.)

Thanks for any help you can give.

never mind, I solved it by letting the PC get the driver from the internet
rather than the computer.
