Modem Not Answering

I recently installed RAS on Windows 2000 Server with
access via modem. It works fine when someone is logged on
locally to the server, but when you're not logged on
locally, the modem will not answer incoming calls. Is
there some driver or service in Windows that doesn't load
until you're logged on locally?

I've tried logging on as admin remotely and it still does
not work.

I havn't messed with RAS and modems for a couple of years now, but it
sounds like the "modem init string" is attached to the profile login to
me. If you set the default settings in the modem to answer on 1 ring you
will probably be getting it to work. Look up the setting for auto answer
