After installation of a modem in Windows 2000 in Device
Manager, the modem status is "This device is not working
properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required
for this device (Code 31)" I'm am getting this on
multiple PCs and even with different modems and after
multiple Win2k setup/installs. I've searched and
searched for a solution to this but have found nothing.
Anyone ever find a solution to this. Here's the hardware
settings: IRQ 5, I/O Range EE00-EEFF.
Help on this would be greatly appreciated.

have you downloaded the correct win2K drivers for that
particular modem ? they should be on the modem manufacturer
website

There is a chance the modem is not supported ?

good luck

Geoff

It is the correct driver and most up to date. This will
happen with any modem once it happens on the first modem.

After installation of a program in Windows 2000, the CD-RW
status is "This device is not working
properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required
for this device (Code 31)". I tried to uninstall the
device, then re-install it, it is still the same.Anyone
ever find a solution to this, pls give a help. Your help
on this would be greatly appreciated.
