Does anyone know how I can restrict the bandwidth my
daughter uses on our broadband connection? We are using a
home network Windows XP and she's hogging all the
bandwidth, is there a way, easily, to allocate how much
she can use? Her PC runs ME mine XP Pro. 3Com network
cards
Broadband was good till she started hogging now my
connection is no faster than a 56k modem!!

Hi

There's no built-in method of doing that from Windows, however, you could
try either of these products:

http://bandwidthcontroller.com/index.html
http://www.netlimiter.com/

Neither is free I'm afraid but they do work, I tried them earlier in the
year but I don't need, or use them. I think that bandwidth controller *may*
be free as it's still a beta, have a look they both have trial periods.

HTH
