How to configure the number of rings before modem will
aswering on an incoming call?
No special modem programs are used on PC.
I guess it should be some parameters in registry to do
that.

Thank you in advance

Hey Alex,

Its normally a setting in one of the modem registers. I think its normally
the S0 register.

You need to talk to it. Try Hyperterminal

Start/all programs/accessories/communications/hyperterminal.

When you can get to the point when you can issue an

AT
command and it responds OK
Then you have contact.

Try

ATS0=3

This auto answers after 3 rings. If you use ATS0=0 this turns off auto
answer, which is normally the default.

If this works, then use

AT&W

To save it.

You can normally restore factory settings with

AT&F

If you find hitting the returm key in hyperterminal has no effect, try
CTRL-M

These are Hayes commands which have just about become a standard, but they
can vary slightly between manufacturers.
You should consult the manual, or try and find one on the manufacturers
website.
