I recently installed WIN2000 on a friend's HP Pavillion.
She wanted to completely remove XP and so I reformatted the
drive from the WIN200 setup CD. The installation appeared
normal. However when it finished, the modem went
undetected and when I tried to manually install it using an
appropriate "standard" driver, even though that process
seemed normal what an application tried to use it, I was
told it would not respond.
I can set up the printer (an EPSON Stylus), again
apparently without problem but it just sits there when you
try to send a test page and finally errors out with one of
the generic "there is a problem with LPT1:" errors.
Any ideas?
