I am currently using Outlook 98 on an XP system. I will soon upgrade to
Office XP and its version of Outlook.

Are there any precautions I should take in the transition from Outlook 98 to
the XP version? Will the new Outlook be able to use the old pst file or will
I need to convert it somehow?

Thanks.

I have been using the same PST file for years, even with W98 and Outlook 97. I now use XP Pro and Outlook 2002.

Just to make a small clarification: Office XP contains Outlook 2002, not
Outlook 2003 as stated in your subject line. Outlook 2002 uses the same
..PST file format as Outlook 98 did (as well as Outlook 97 and Outlook 2000).
Outlook 2003 does introduce a new .PST format that is not backwards
compatible; however, the older .PST files can be used with Outlook 2003.
