I was working on (read messing up) my computer, and accidentally short
circuited the heatsink on the power supply to the power supply case.
Now the computer behaves, differently. The front power switch is no
longer required to power the computer up. to make it run, all i need
to do is flip the power supply switch. when i do this: the fans spin
& the cd is operable (i can open/close it) however the screen remains
blank…. Not a good sign

Did I fry the mobo even though it still spins up> any thoughts on how
I can test this?

thanks!

Lucky for you only ruined the power supply. They do have a fuse but it is
soldered in and hard to replace. It is easier to buy new power supply.
