I do very little mobo changes, but more than once I have seen cases
that have plastic push on tabs.

Can these be replaced with metal mounts?

What is the best way to deal with these?

Metal ones make very nice shorts, and can turn the board
into a doorstop.
They should only be used at places designed for them,
with a nice big ground circle/hole coating on both
sides of the board.

Aren't all boards made for metal ones?
The hardware comes with the case. Right?
Some cases have metal and some cases have plastic.

In the past I have seen some boards with very critical wiring
close to mounting holes, usually solved with plastic standoffs,
or nylon washers or screws to avoid a short.

Not when they're used in the same places the plastic ones fit.

Unbelievable...

You should stop buying cheap poorly designed shit then.
