Mobile Phone Connection

When I try to connect a Sony Ericsson mobile phone to my PC I get the message
" cannot install this hardware. There was a problem installing this hardware
.. Data is invaild."
My Operating Syatem is Windoews XP SP2

It could involve the registry. Add "registry" to your search terms.
