Anyone using this freeware?

I've installed, even made a backup then close the program.

When I now start the program I get the splash screen for a few seconds
then the bottom icon in the task bar as if it was running but clicking
on the icon won't work. The only thing working with this icon is
"close"

It's the second time I install the program and I always get the same
situation.

Any suggestions?

I have been using MOB 2.1 ever since I found it without any problems.
Sorry, but no suggestions.

SORRY:
Just saw that the program does not work on XP :-(((
To bad such a nice program;

But it does work; one time after installation

Could it be you are running Windows XP?
There are programs (Noteworthy = MS Office Outlook 2000) Who's process will
not be deleted from the taskmanager after the outlook windows are closed.
You might want to look if there is still an instance of the software
running, and terminate it (Or reboot your computer)

After writing my message I saw in PcWorld: "The only downside to the
program is it doesn't run on Windows Me, 2000, or XP"

I don't run (MSOffice Outlook 2000) but there are so many prgms
running in the background.

Very strange anyway that it will run one time after installation.

Thanks for the input MightyKitten

I use it in W2000: the only problem happens if you set it to fullscreen
(on next execution, no window appear).

I just went through about a dozen backup programs and found the
best (for me) was " Karens Replicator" at ... www.karenware.com/
...... it lets you make a 'group' of folders to be backed up , and lets
you make a shortcut to automatically back them all up at once (one
click).........or let the program run in the background to backup more
often ...

If you run the Windows Scheduler any way you might want to get a
backup program that uses it , as the timer, to backup at certin times
....

Sorry for my bad English
MOB2.1 works on XP. It is the best freeware backup i know: makes 1 zip file
and deletes non existing files from this when you select "update".
Sometimes crashes when you press "Restore".
Uninstall the program, reboot, go to "Program Files" and delete the folder
MOBv2.
Reinstall and OK.
Restore only from other programs (IZArc is very fast).

I've tried almost everything suggested here and for some reason, on my
system, it won't run.

For a software that is supposed to save my data I don't feel secure
using it.

Just found an other freeware that has the same features that I liked
in MOB21.

It's TaskZip

Thanks for suggestions and help

Forget about MOB21. It's too outdated and doesn't seem to be actually
supported anymore.

Try Abakt - A Backup Tool instead. It's pretty good for a Windows backup
program and is under the GPL.

Latest version is Abakt 0.8.10 and was released on 3-January-2004
