MMC8.8: tuner can't lock onto signal

This is a weird one. I can scan for channels, and find them. I can even
see them all if I click the Channel Surf button. If I choose a channel, I
get it for a split second, and then just lots of snow.

Anybody else seen this? I'm using an AIW9700 Pro, and I'm in the UK, so
it's PAL.

It's also not the Directx9b bug - I've already applied that fix.

Everything's fine on the Composite input, by the way.

It ain't weird... it's the way ATI has left all its European
customers in the lurch for months. :-(

For Holland the fix is: say you're on Norfolk Island... but
what it would be from the UK I don't know. :-(

Thanks for the tip. Guess what: Norfolk Island works for UK as well!

.....Except for NICAM stereo, which works for a fraction of a second before
turning into a loud buzz, so I have to force those channels to mono.

Now that is weird... Holland and the UK use different PAL
standards... you have sound?

Yup, but only mono. NICAM is just a loud buzz.

Well, I see MMC 8.9 is out now, and this issue is not resolved. This time
after installing, I did a full scan for UK, then changed to Norfolk Island
afterwards, and I seem to have full video and audio, the latter of which
occasionally degenratesinto a loud buzz whilst using the TV on demand
function.
