One thing we haven't worked out is how to skip forwards past adverts in File
Player.

If press Fast forward, then it just keeps going FF and pressing Play doesn't
stop it

The 'Position' slider bar is too short to be precise.

Any ideas? (Haven't found any other app that reads VCR files).

Thanks,
Laurence
(But hooray - everything else is working!)

OK, by Googling group ATI and "File Player" I find the key word is "seek",
and there are dozens of old posts complaining that "seek" does NOT work in
File Player. None with answers or solutions.

So the reason I got no answer is because there is no answer to give - it
doesn't work.

I can read the manual all I want about these "timeline" and "shuttle jog"
buttons, but of course, nowhere will an ATI manual say "These features are
there but they don't work" just to save me time trying to work it out.
Getting annoyed -I wish I had NEVER bought ATI.

(No, I can't use PDVD for playback because if I record in mpg format I get
no sound.)

I have the same exact problem with the playback on my MMC 7.7. The only
workaround I have found is to open and play the files in Windows Media
Player....works flawlessly.

reinstall the audio drivers....i know it sounds weird but it has worked in some cases
Good idea, but just tried it and sadly didn't work - mpgs still have no
sound (which would have fixed all navigation issues, as then I could use
PDVD as player.)

Have heard advice to change SB Live to another card, but as I like old
CRPGs, I'm waiting until I can identify a replacement that also has DOS SB
emulation.

Thanks,
Laurence
